On Sunday 13th September 2026, Olly and Dan will be swapping property for pounding the pavements as they take on the iconic AJ Bell Great North Run – all in support of The Third Age Trust.
The Great North Run is the world’s biggest half marathon, bringing together around 60,000 determined runners for an unforgettable 13.1-mile journey through the North East.
Known for its incredible atmosphere, famous North East welcome and the millions of pounds raised for good causes each year, it’s a huge challenge – and one that Olly and his best mate Dan are taking on for a cause particularly close to Olly’s heart.
Running for The Third Age Trust
Olly is raising money for The Third Age Trust, a charity that supported his dad during the final years of his life.
The Third Age Trust supports the u3a movement across the UK, bringing retired and semi-retired people together to continue learning, develop new interests, share their skills and, importantly, build friendships and social connections.
For Olly, taking part in the Great North Run is an opportunity to give something back and raise funds and awareness for an organisation that made a real difference to his family.
Olly said:
“The Third Age Trust is a fantastic charity that helped my dad in his final years, so it means a lot to be able to support them. Taking on the Great North Run with my best mate Dan is going to be a huge challenge, but knowing we’re doing it for such a worthwhile cause will definitely help get us through those 13.1 miles!”
13.1 Miles for a Great Cause
With race day fast approaching, the training is well underway as Olly and Dan prepare to join tens of thousands of runners on the start line on 13th September 2026.
